O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
how lovely are thy branches.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
how lovely are thy branches.
In verdant green do always grow
through summer sun and winter snow.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
thy candles burn so brightly.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
we love each other rightly.
We put a relic in our home
of a perfect way to grow.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
adorned in all your splendor.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
we kill you to remember.
~ ~ ~
The earth must not dissolve like snow
'cause we all have nowhere to go.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
we see you in the clearing.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,
the season’s now and nearing,
nearing.

Steven’s got a lot of nerve,
for showing up to the Christmas boutique this year.
Everyone’s got those rubber necks,
cause last year he bought all the Christmas things with rubber checks. Stealing from the townspeople, it was pitiful,
but the things he was wearing, they looked so wonderful.
Like the elf hat and the snowflake scarf he bought off Larry Mandro,
or the tinsel chain he bought off Mary P.
Or the white candy cane belt he snatched from Pastor Carter.
Like the snowy sunglasses that he bought off tiny Efrain
or the Santa pants he bought off Brenda Lane,
or the shiny ruby reindeer watch he bought from Sarah Andrews...
Then the police arrived, and they took Steven downtown.
And no one ever saw their Christmas things again,
no one ever dressed that wonderful again,
no one ever saw Steven ever again

The stockings hang from the chimney
Music plays near the glistening tree
And oh I'm in love with the sound
As the blizzarding snow hits the ground
The light of the Lord and the loved ones galore
Makes the spirit so real to me
The streets are silent outside of the house
No creatures are stirring, not even a mouse
And I feel the goodness around
As the blizzarding snow hits the ground
The light of the Lord and the loved ones galore
Makes the tidings feel so unique
Happy Christmas, hope you feel good
Grab your banjo, sing a song all of us know
Ohh (etc. etc.)

I’m a shepherd that heard what the angel said
Now I’ll spread the word like butter on bread
Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone
in your wooden & hay-filled throne
You sought out the outcasts,
black sheep, and unknown
I was lost, I was a stranger
But now I’m not ‘cause I’ve been to the manger!

Run an extension cord into the yard
Plug it to a light fixture
You’ll need some length to get it far enough
To capture everything
Find the brightest bulb you can
and turn it til it comes on
Shine a light on the house
It’s Christmas!

It’s a starry night
And as I look up at the stars
I imagine another universe
Different from my own
Cause there’re so many lives
So many last names
It would do me good once and a while
To think of another person’s pain
Or happiness
We may not all be together
But we all know the feeling
Of sunny or stormy weather
The holidays maybe spent alone
So I’ll look up in the sky
And wish upon a star
That no matter how far away
You’re loved just where you are

Voyager 2,
where are you?
Out past the moons
of Neptune?
All I want for Christmas this year,
is to send you interplanetary cheer
O King of Kings
O Star of Stars
I wanna find out where you are
Look up at the heavens (see the star)
Look up at the heavens (see the star)
The star of Bethlehem is shining down (see the star)
Glory hallelujah all around (see the star)

Baby, baby dear,
Earth and heaven are near
Now, for heaven is here.
Baby, baby dear,
Heaven is every place
Where your flower-sweet face
Fills our eyes with grace.
Heaven is every place
Till your own eyes deign
Earth a glance again,
Earth and heaven are twain.
Till your own eyes deign
Now your sleep is done,
Shine, and show the sun
Earth and heaven are one.

I bought electric guitars this Christmas for my children
to inspire a new sound for our family band
Last year it was piano and strummin' acoustic
and the thoughtful introspection got out of hand
Fa la la laa laaaa, la laaa
Fa la la laa laaaa, fa laaa
I bought some NOFX records this Christmas for my children
to inspire a new sound for our family band
Last year it was all Joni Mitchell and Kenny Loggins
Our quiet reflection got out of hand
Rum pum pum pum puumm, Rum pum-pum puumm
Rum pum pum pum puumm, Rum pum-pum puumm
I bought electric guitars this Christmas for my children
to inspire a new sound for our family band

Come, thou long expected Jesus,
born to set thy people free;
from our fears and sins release us,
let us find our rest in thee.
Israel's strength and consolation,
hope of all the earth thou art;
dear desire of every nation,
joy of every longing heart.
Born thy people to deliver,
born a child and yet a King,
born to reign in us forever,
now thy gracious kingdom bring.
By thine own eternal spirit
rule in all our hearts alone;
by thine all sufficient merit,
raise us to thy glorious throne.
Come, thou long expected Jesus,
born to set thy people free;

Snow is falling on the morning
in the fields, in the town
Snow is falling by my window
in the evening through the night
Rain is falling on the treetops
in the forest, in the town
Rain is falling by my window
pitter-patter through the night
Wind is blowing through the valley
on the hills, in the town
Wind is blowing by my window
sshhhhwwwwsshhhhhhhhwwwssshhhh

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
"the snow's really coming down out there you'd better stay the night"
fall on your knees oh hear the angel voices
"there's blankets in the closet there I hope the living room's alright"
And what a relief
to be tossing and turning on a sofa
I couldn't tell you what it's meant to me to know you.
And though I was never really taught how to say what was on my mind,
and I'll probably say nothing, and it probably doesn't matter anyway,
and though I once submitted the Upper Midwest as proof
that loving God doesn't mean he'll love you back,
I see the light of day
and lonely little me
loves you all with the fire of a dying star;
I love you all.

I see it in your eyes
It’s always in your eyes
They never lie, I said it
We’re on holiday
But there’s obviously no way
You’ll stay in bed past seven
You are a six eyed monster
And I can’t get away
My heart is in your hands
I can’t help but stay
You see it in my eyes
How do you see my eyes
An hour before the sunrise?
You want me to come play
But there’s just no way
This bed is just too cozay
You are a six eyed monster
And I can’t get away
My heart is in your hands
I can’t help but stay
When you are older
And on your own
I’ll call you just to
Let you know
It’s 4am and I dropped my stuffy
You are a six eyed monster
And I can’t get away
My heart is in your hands
I can’t help but stay
You are the best of me
And I will always say
Despite sleep deprivation
I’d never have it any other way

Dodododo de do de do do do
Dodododo de do de do de da
There is so much to do
So we do do
All day de do, all day de do de da
I have to stuff the bears with all my might
I have to hem the dolls dresses just right
Jack in the box, slinkeys and rubix cubes
We still must do, by ten past two
The etch a sketch powder burns my eyes
Did you hear the light bright guy just died?
Now his family cannot survive
Unles his wife
Works the red lights
Union of elves, assemble the elders by ringing the jingley bells
Now that we have the whole committee here, we need to organize and make it clear
There are basic rights that we must have, a union is our one and only path
Maximum of 20 hr days
Reimbursed for mileage on our sleighs
More chocolate chips on cookies during breaks
And two additional misty mints of pay
Union of elves, commence all the voting by ringing our jingley bells
What is it here that you’re trying to do?
We want to work for nobody but you
I am confused by this kalamazoo
All the elves here have been feeling so blue
What can i do?
Sign on this line?
Ok.. that’s fine
Union of elves, we formed a union so ring all our jingley bells

Hey Santa , it’s Jeff Bezos, you can’t compete with me
I bought Christmas, for 30 billion, and renamed it Amazon
Replacing elves with robots, and breaking up their union. I dine on prances reindeer meat while Mrs clause clause cries.
Santa, I shut your workshop down , burned it down. ho ho ho. Santa, you little fat man That’s just business, so too bad.
Hey Alexa, let me know , who was Saint Nick: St Nick. I’m sorry I don’t know what that is.
Hey Children quit crying. Your shipping will still be free.
Replacing reindeer with faster drones. I can see them now from my rocket ship. Every day is Christmas because I’m super fascist and ultra rich
Santa, I bought your workshop, burned it down. ho ho ho. Santa you little fat man That’s just business, so too bad.
Santa, you messed with Amazon, now you’re paying the price. Santa, you little fat man. That’s just business.
Ho ho ho!

I will move the falling snow
I can make a way
You can keep the fire burning smart
You will find the string of lights
You can hang them high
I can write our name inside the cards
I will buy the gifts to bring
I can save and pay
You can wrap the presents in the car
As we wait for Christmas day to start
As we wait for Christmas day to start
I will find the perfect tree
I can bring it in
You can place the bobbles and the star
You will make the perfect feast
You can bring it in
I will set the table for my part
I will wear my button shirt
I can wear my tie
You can wear the pin across your heart
And we wait for Christmas day to start
And we know it’s Christmas

Hoping for Snow (Beauty’s Falling from the Sky)
Trees have dropped their quotas
And the frost has taken its root
In symmetry and excitation
countless flurries fall into our view
Descending here, appreciate it
Descending here, accumulating
Descending here, the trepidation
Descending here, descending.
Fairy dust, in curlicue
I see it swirling in its circles
floating up and down and all around the stairs
some stays there
Snappy cold, it shows the breath
it even freezes the wet pavement
with the whitest quilt that covering
all the secrets hiding underneath
Beauty's falling from this sky
And I asked for it?
Do I have to own the consequences?
Beauty falls and winter takes its toll
Do I have to face the truth and own the consequences?
Delicate in innocence and lightness
with a penchant to enchant, invigorate, inspire.
In calmness, wintermute,
Blankets of white
Veils of snow enveloping around me
In a lull I do suppose the world is finally right
In subtle disquietude
I don't see the coming signs
Cotton candy crystals are
mischievously twinkling
though they knew a secret
that they couldn't wait to tell
Danger tends to loom
as winter takes its toll
I mean...
It's just a little snow with lots of fun to spare
Should I care?
Skis, sleds, tobogganing,
And then there's
Skidding, sliding
Traction control tries to grip to the snow but
the treads will not hold,
the treads will not hold
Do I have to bear the risk from the carelessness of others?
The whistling wisps of spider silk
are pure and new
wintertime is such a wonder
unless that wonder crashes into you
Descending here, appreciate it
Descending here, accumulating
Descending here, the trepidation
Descending here, descending.
Shivering and worrying
I'm getting taken up by instinct
I'm shaking
Maybe I could loosen up and brush the dust that's on my shoulders
I can see my windshield crumbling
and the snowy asphalt underneath

Sit down by the fireside
The fireside is warm
For conversations we have once a year
Pour another glass for me
And make it good and strong
Then raise it up, for Christmastime is here
Tell me of the days that lay behind you
Stories of your kids and of your wife
We've got all the time that we could ask for
It's been a while
And brother we've got all night
It hasn't been so easy
Though it's easy to forget
When you and I are sitting face to face
The heaviness is lifting
And our backs are growing straight
Set your load down, brother
We made it all this way
Tell me of the days that lay behind you
The good ones and the hard ones all the same
We've got all the time that we could ask for
It's been a while
And brother we've got all day
A year or so from now
Or so it seems to be a-going
We'll meet up once again on Christmas Eve
But if I could jump a jet plane
Straight from my front door to yours
I'd be there once a week, you can believe
So tell me of the days that lay before you
Let's stay up late trading heart-to-hearts
We don't have the time that we would wish for
It's gonna be a while
And brother, we've come so far

I’d like to dedicate this to my wife and the crib board table I never made her
And to my parents for that log cabin restaurant date we never went on
And to any substandard gift attributed to my general tardiness
I am a last minute shopper
Help! I need some gift ideas for my mother and my sister and my wife oh dear
I am a last minute shopper
Yeah I’m wandering round superstore at 3am trying to remember if you like peanut m&ms
I’m the reason stores are open 24/7
Wanna see me stressed, well its turned up to 11
I just want to find the perfect gift for you
But I’m walking round this busy mall like it’s a giant game of clue
(Chorus)
Boys I need your help, what can we get momma? What would she like? *insert kids ideas*
I know I should treat you better
Shoulda been thinking of this back in November
Shouldn’t be running around on Christmas Eve in a panic
I’ll make it up to you
Please accept this IOU
He is a last minute shopper
If you see him in the aisles lend a hand he’s a desperate man without a plan
He is a last minute shopper
I told him what I wanted months ago yet he’s still out there driving on those icy roads
Not even Amazon prime can help me now
I’m on my own
I regret all my choices in life
I just wanna be at home

Come along and join us
In an old fashioned Christmas, this year
Filled with peace and goodwill to mankind
May your heart be aglow
With the love we all know.
We humbly pray that no one’s left behind.
Refrain
So won’t you join us
In an old fashioned Christmas, this year?
Lift your voices up to the sky.
Together boys and girls
Bring your joy to the world.
Merry Christmas, as in years gone by.
What fun to decorate that Christmas tGlittering gold
Silver chains on a background of green
Fragrant boughs fill the room with a scented perfume.
It’s gonna be the best we’ve ever seen!
Let’s celebrate the infant child, born on that night
In a stable long ago, yes it seems.
Wisemen followed that star,
Bearing gifts from afar
Let’s not forget what Christmas really means.
Eh bien! Chantons les cantïques ce beau temps des fêtes
Joyeusement comme bien d’autres Noëls.
Allons chercher au bois
Le sapin d’autrefois
Dans mille bougies s’écrit Joyeux Noël!

Check out all these Wise Men
Coming ‘round the bend/holding
With expensive gifts they send
Gold Frankincense Myrrh
Brr
What kind of gifts are these sirs?
But I’m just a drummer boy
I ain’t got no fancy toy
Take a seat, here’s a beat, let me help you fall asleep
Come they told me
A newborn King to see
The ox and lamb kept time
While I play a beat divine
Rum Pum pum pum
Can I play you some?

What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Charlie: I guess you were right Linus; I shouldn’t have picked this little tree. Everything I do turns into a disaster. I guess I don’t really know what Christmas is about. Isn’t there anyone who understands what Christmas is all about?
Linus: Sure, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.
Linus: “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, ‘fear not, for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you. Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in the manger.’ And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, ‘glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men.’”
Linus: That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

When I was young we used to play out in the snow
The days were short, but we dressed warm, cause man it was cold
Lacin’ my skates on the bench, tie ‘em up real tight
Throw your sticks out on the ice let’s play a game tonight
It’s winter time, and we’re together, through the coldest weather
But we don’t mind…Each winter time
Got a new sleigh this year, gunna go tobogganing
Let’s head down to Northridge to see all my friends
The snow was coming down
We played all day
Head home for some hot chocolate and sit by the fire place
It’s winter time, and we’re together, through the coldest weather
But we don’t mind…Each winter time

Looking out the window
I see the snow falling
It’s the time of the year
The child in me’s calling
It’s hard for me to express
Just how much I missed this
Will I ever outgrow
The wonder of Christmas?
To believe in the sudden shift
And that life is all a gift
To follow the guiding star
To open up our hearts
Bring light into the dark
To bring close what had felt so far
In the winter of our soul
Christ comes to console
Though so many years have gone by
I still feel the magic
To do without this time
Would certainly be tragic
The world which so needs hope
Finds light in the giving
And for a moment in time
There’s true joy in the living
In the winter of our soul
Christmastime consoles
