Winters come
Wind is blowing at the door and
my van won't start on this cold
Christmas morning
Cause the coolant is leaking out onto the snow
It looks like the head gaskets pretty well blown
I'm not driving anywhere tonight
How can I get home for Christmas ?
I bet Jessie's swigging down the eggnog
and Amanda is eating all apple pie
The turkey will be sitting there cold on the plate
Darnit, I'm going who cares if I'm late!
Leave the car in the driveway, let's open the shed
I throw my legs over my bike's steel frame
I'm biking home for Christmas
Ok it’s about 30 below outside
And there’s a ton of snow on the ground
Mom’s house is pretty far away
So I’m going to have to put on my long johns for this one
Maybe a couple put on my extra thick socks
The turkey will be sitting their cold on the plate
Darnit, I'm going who cares if I'm late!
I throw my legs over my bike’s steel frame
See you soon mom, I love you always
I'm biking home for Christmas
I'm biking home for Christmas

You’re counting your blessings
I’m praying for discounts
I’ve marked all the sales in the ads
Some will pack clothes and travel
Some will rent cars to drive
Some will take shoes and belts off just to fly
Some will bring covered dishes
Casseroles and Pumpkin Pies
I’ll be taking mine to-go this time
It’s the darkest day of the year
Grab the camping gear
Black Friday’s here!
Hold your loved ones dear
Push and shove and cheer
Black Friday’s here!
It’s the darkest day of the year
Grab the camping gear
Black Friday’s here!
Some will pitch tents and camp out
Just to be the first inside
Sleep on sidewalks where we’ll push and fight
So hug your loved ones around the neck
Left the family to stand in line
Think of all the amazing deals we’ll find

Once in royal David's city
Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her baby
In a manger for his bed:
Mary was that Mother mild,
Jesus Christ her little Child.
He came down to earth from heaven
Who is God and Lord of all,
And his shelter was a stable,
And his cradle was a stall:
With the poor and mean and lowly,
Lived on earth our Saviour holy.
And our eyes at last shall see him
Through his own redeeming love,
For that Child so dear and gentle,
Is our Lord in heaven above:
And he leads his children on
To the place where he is gone.

When things go wrong but will not go right
Though you do the best you can
When life seems dark as the hour of night
Well a pint of plain is your only man
When money’s tight and is hard to get
And your horse has also ran
And all you have is a heap of debt
Well a pint of plain is your only man
(I think we’ll make it)
(I think we’ll do just what we can)
(A quiet searching)
(Go find the child in Bethlehem)
Your health is bad And your heart feels strange
(Pull back the curtains)
And your face is pale and wan
(And let the winter light come in)
And the doctor says that you need a change
(An advent morning)
Well a pint of plain is your only man
(The humble child adoring)
In times of trouble and lousy strife
(The wolf with the lamb)
Though you’ve still a darling plan
(The leopard lying with the goat)
You still can turn to a better life
(The calf and lion)
(And a little child will lead them)

Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
"Throw cares away."
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From ev'rywhere
Filling the air
Oh how they pound
Raising the sound
O'er hill and dale
Telling their tale
Joyf'ly they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas

I see Dasher and Dancer,
I see Donner and Blitzen.
I see brown paper packages,
I see warm woolen mittens.
I see the little Lord Jesus
asleep on the hay,
but what's a penguin doing
in your Christmas display?

How am I here? Why does it baffle?
I won a tree at the Christmas raffle
I’ll take the bus with it to my abode
But when I’m on board, I’m not alone
Everyone with trees of their own
A forest on wheels, the woods on the road!
At home, when I take off my boots
(the tree starts sprouting shoots!)
And as I close the door, across the floor
(the tree spreads out its roots!)
Pinecone that falls from its limb
(I stuff beneath my shirt!)
since bellybutton lint’s more fertile than dirt
So now I’m stuck, I feel erased
Why am I planted in this place?
Light up the tree that grows out of me!
Light please, light up the tree that grows out of me!
Light then, light up the tree that grows out of them!
Light too, light up the tree that grows out of you!
Light what? Light up the tree that grows out of us!

The time is getting near, yeah, it’s the best time of the year. The girls are drinking hot cider, and the guys are drinking ginger beer. Uncle Mike is dressed up like Santa Claus, and everybody says it’s nice to see ya. We heard the doorbell ring, and we opened the door and it was Friedrich Nietzsche. Friedrich Nietzsche’s at the Christmas party checking out the decorations at the Christmas celebration, yeah, and when he saw the angel on the tree, he wasn’t offended, no, he wasn’t, no! Friedrich Nietzsche’s at the Christmas party -we tried to say hello, he smiled and he said he had to go, but then he kissed our sister under the mistletoe, oh we got a bit defensive!
And Friedrich mingled on, and some sentiments were shared. He ate most of the Belgian chocolate, but nobody seemed to care. And then he taught us this German song, it was beautiful and expressive! And then we started to sing “silent night”, and Friedrich started looking kind of pensive. And he stared at the three little wisemen figurines for an hour. He thought that the lights on the tree looked like a meteor shower. He looked at the lit up baby Jesus on the roof of my neighbors house and he cried, “That little thing I said about God being dead it’s a lie!”. Friedrich Nietzsche’s at the Christmas party checking out the sights and sounds, change of heart by leaps and bounds…he forgot everything that he thought he knew, now he’s wishing a merry Christmas to you!

It's Christmas time, blissful time,
It's Christmas time again.
The shepherds and the wise men came from afar.
To Bethlehem they hastened, led by a star.
Angels brought the news, the Savior is born,
Peace on earth goodwill toward men.
Baby in a manger, star in the sky.
Joy in our hearts, tears in our eyes.
It's Christmas time, blissful time.
It's Christmas time again.
Snowflakes are falling, hills and meadows are white.
Angels bring good tidings, on this holy night.
Baby in a manger, star in the sky,
Joy in our hearts, tears in our eyes.
It's Christmas time, blissful time,
It's Christmas time again.
Snowflakes are falling, hills and meadows are white.
Angels bring good tidings on this holy night.
Baby in a manger, star in the sky.
Joy in our hearts, tears in our eyes.
It's Christmas time, blissful time,
It's Christmas time again.

Right in front of me, I see scenery that's looks very lovely.
As the snow falls I just watch humbly.
As season changes and comes to be.
I go for a walk I hear Christmas caroling from the other block. See people at the mall about to shop. It's that time again for a Christmas drop. See the lights hear the sounds and maybe I might hear some jingle bells. There is no other reason he brings season. He brings hope and salvation for us to believe in. I look to the night sky. I see the stars that are shining bright and Ima look to the brightest one, for the brightest one to be my guiding light.
Right in front of me, I see scenery that's looks very lovely.
As the snow fall I just watch humbly.
As season changes and comes to be.
The season is here, the seasons that signifies the end of the year. Filled with family, friends and late night cheer. The time I get spend with those I hold dear. I can't believe how a year has gone by. We always seem surprised how time flies. I always hate having to say goodbyes. So Ima say see you next year and wait till it arrives.
Right in front of me, I see scenery that's looks very lovely.
As the snow fall I just watch humbly.
As season changes and comes to be.

Walking, on this cold winter’s day
In the harsh winds, snow flakes fall with grace
Bundled, up all warm; winter coat, scarf and toque,
They’re all worn
But out in the cold, it fuels my soul
The solitude of this winter’s day
Deciduous, trees
Are absent, of all their leaves
Save a cardinal, perched in red
Singing its lovely song, high above my head
But out in the cold, it fuels my soul
The solitude of this winter’s day

All year he thought about it
and finally made good on his plans
woke up the next morning
with words no one understands
It seems he’s lost all feeling
and his mouths not working right
on a straw based liquid diet
he’s looking at a silent night
Chorus:
Di dite my ton peyahts tah timahs
(He got his tongue pierced for Christmas)
Dowh I dunt noh whut tuh do
(Now he don’t know what to do)
Di dite my ton peyahts tah timahs
(He got his tongue pierced for Christmas)
Dan di teal blant and bloo
(And it’s still black and blue)
Diff pi tuhn doh back neh tyenuh
(If he could go back in time)
Iduh dinuh mitultoh datooh
(He’d get a mistletoe tattoo)
He tried sending Christmas cards
before he lost all hope
a slobbery mess was made
trying to seal the envelopes
Volunteering at the mission
brought about humiliation
slurred words were heard
arrests was made
public intoxication
Repeat Chorus
Mahmy Timahs!

Ponderosa pines
Before we’ve been turned
Into fine wine
We go through a sort of ringer
Written on stone
By God’s finger
Mary didn’t have an easy path
But she, like many women
Was an empath
Felt deeply the messages of God
The angels and shepherds
Her heart was awed
And she was known to ponder
While she was here
Still over yonder
She meditated on the
Wonderful ways
God has rearranged her days
She didn’t know the road ahead
But she trusted God instead
Of fearing for her life
Embraced the mystery
In the midst of strife
And her son became the savior
Because she was so full of favor
If you ever dismay or wonder
Be like Mary and simple ponder

O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night
Oh night divine
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name

After Mom threw a gingerbread house at Dad
He stormed off mad, and has been crashing at my Uncle’s pad
We visit him on the weekend
The garbage full of beer cans
He says he doesn’t miss her
Just trying out Tinder
Mom tells me Dad kissed a dental hygienist
And this other time he had the nerve to call her fat
I tell her it’s a rough patch
But no need to get un-hitched
You’re also hard to defend
After that fling with his best friend
I’ll gladly trade my presents
For a Christmas with my parents
I’ll stop bullying other kids
If they’d just hold hands again
Santa, Jesus or whoever you are
Let my Dad move back in
From Christmas to eternity
I just want a normal family
I’ll gladly trade my presents
For a Christmas with my parents
I’ll start making real friends
If they’d just hold hands again
Santa, Jesus or whoever you are
Let my Dad move back in
From Christmas to eternity
I just want a boring family
I’ll gladly trade my presents
For a Christmas with my parents
I’ll stop calling social services
If they’d just hold hands again
Santa, Jesus or whoever you are
Let my Dad move back in
From Christmas to eternity
I just want a happy family

Will you really hear me
Will you make note
Will you go rogue
In hope
With joy
May we make this
May we make this
May we make this a practice all year
May we make this a practice all year
May we make this our way
May we make this our way

“Are you waking?” shout the breezes
To the tree-tops waving high,
“Don’t you hear the happy tidings
Whispered to the earth and sky?
Have you caught them in your dreaming,
Frozen streams and snowy swells?
Do you know the joy we bring you
In the merry Christmas bells?
“Are you waking, flowers that slumber
In the deep and frosty ground?
Do you hear what we are breathing
To the listening world around?
For we bear the sweetest story
That the glad year ever tells:
How He loved the little children, —
He who brought the Christmas bells

Smell of cotton candy in the air
Try the spicy chocolate if you dare
Everything is decked in colored lights
At the Christmas market for the night
Buy the Christmas wreath we all admire
Pause to warm our toes now by the fire
Carousels and carols in the square
At the Christmas market, see you there
Strolling through the stalls of handmade art
Roasted chestnuts warm the winter heart
Snow is falling softly, clean and bright
At the Christmas market for the night

fod - Crocheted Shorts
04:12
|
|||
Here I am, in a booth of my own design
Not one passerby has stopped, and I guess that’s fine
It’s a cold night to believe my dream could be reality
I sell crocheted shorts, ah!
A work of art you wear
They’re not for sports ... or anything, really
But they were made with care
She’s so hot, that’s she’s sweating through her T-shirt
Despite the wind and falling snow
She spots my booth, and bold variety of her dream made reality
She sees crocheted shorts, ah!
A work of art you wear
They’re not for sports ... or anything, really
But they were made with care
I wanted a cool side-hustle:
A market booth with things to sell
I was gainfully employed,
But my work never brought me joy
All my dreams had gone to ground
Thought all was lost, but then I found
The inline and the tapered hook
Some yarn and a beginner’s book
My dreams were finally coming true!
I’d fill a booth, I’d follow through
I’d start a brand, an online store
I’d be a great entrepreneur
With my crocheted shorts, ah!
A work of art you wear
They’re not for sports ... or anything, really
But they were made with care
They’re not for sports ... or anything, really
But they were made with care
