Machamp was my father
My mother had a thing for limbs
She left me as a child
When her family couldn’t handle him

Machamp was a fighter
He trained at Viridian Gym
Until he was abducted
And a trainer made him fight for her

I befriended an onyx
His brother had been taken away
I asked him if he’d ever
Track them down and make them pay

He said, “you best be grateful
You won’t fit inside a Pokémon ball”
I said, “you may be right,
But men find other ways to make you feel small”

I found work in the city
My boss put me in a cardboard box
He said he couldn’t look at me
A mutant, black sheep among the flock

My temper flares, my temperament shared
By the father who was taken away
I settled the score with a co-worker
Who was Adding gasoline to a dangerous flame

Fate found me in the hospital
In the bed next to the wretched woman
Who had captured my father
And left me for the ruin I am

Jumped out of my bed and screamed,
“Who do you think you are?”
Her eyes grew wide, her bandages confined
As I dragged her out into the hall

I didn’t get far
Police made quick work
This cell was made for me before I was born

I want to forgive
I want to be free
To be more than a Pokémon tragedy
